The Game says he needs a new Hit Single before he puts the R.E.D. Album out

Game recently talked about the multiple delays behind his upcoming “R.E.D.” album, addinkg that his August 24th release date is no longer real. Claiming he is working on finding a radio single, Game says he will talk to the boss soon.

“I think I should stop saying when the album is gonna be released and just say ‘when it’s released, just pick it up,’ man. And I think that no matter how long people wait, we’re not gonna get into a Detox situation and wait over 10 years for that…August 24th was real realistic to me until I started touring.

Before I get really locked into it, when I get home on the 8th man…you know, it might still be the 24th once I talk to Interscope CEO Jimmy Iovine. He’s overseas and he gets back when I get back so I’ma sit down with him and have a meeting and we’ll play everything I got. I think I’m missing my huge single like “My Life,” or “Hate It or Love It,” or “One Blood.” And I think I really need to find that…Like I’m looking for a cross between “One Blood” and “Hate It or Love It.” And I think that it wouldn’t be successful or right for me if I put my album out before that.”

Lil Wayne’s Rebirth CD pushed back to June 22

Rebirth — the follow-up to 2008’s The Carter III — was due to officially hit stores and the Internet on 1 February, but a few hundred copies were sent to Amazon.com customers, who had pre-ordered the album, last month. Which in turn leaked to the internet.

The release of Lil Wayne’s long-delayed rock album has been pushed back an additional six months — just weeks after it was accidentally shipped out to 500 fans. Rebirth will now drop June 22 but will probaly leak 2 to 3 weeks before that. Lil Wayne is set to begin serving a one year prison sentence on weapons charges next month. Good Riddance is what I say , I can’t stand much more from the man kissing jibberish spitta.

R. Kelly dominates the R&B albums chart

This week, R. Kelly dominates the R&B albums chart with his tenth solo album, Untitled, debuting at #1 on Billboard’s R&B albums chart. This marks the prolific singer’s fourth #1 R&B album debut, following R. Kelly (1995), R. (1998) and TP-2.Com (2000).

Snoop Dogg appeared in court in California on Friday (24Apr09) to fight a civil lawsuit from a man who alleges he was assaulted by the rapper in 2005.

Richard Monroe, Jr. is seeking $22 million in damages and punitive penalties from Snoop Dogg over claims the hip-hop star and his entourage attacked him during a concert at the White River Amphitheater on the outskirts of Seattle, Washington.

Monroe Jr. alleges the rapper – real name Calvin Broadus – hit him with a microphone after he jumped on stage and put his hand on the star’s shoulder. He then claims Broadus’ security guards hauled him off and delivered a savage beating.

“Relapse,” Eminem’s comeback album on the rap scene, drops in stores on May 19. With a fresh new single off it on air and a video to match, the rapper is back to doing the media rounds to promote his upcoming material. The first stop is XXL Magazine, where Em takes on comic book character The Punisher in a fierce photo spread, while also revealing some details about his addiction and pain following his friend’s death, and the evolution of the rap industry in his absence.

Speaking of the latter, Eminem says that, over the past three years, he noticed that more and more artists were heading towards catchy beats and commercially viable tracks that lacked substance. Luckily, Em adds, the situation seems to have mended recently, with T.I. and Lil Wayne coming out with albums that are really worth the attention of fans of the genre. At the same time, the rapper admits to keeping up to date with everything that has been happening in the industry, which, of course, makes his arguments more solid, it has been said.

“I stayed up on the music, and obviously I watch TV and saw what was going on. And without naming any names, it just felt like hip-hop was going downhill. And it seemed like kinda fast. You know, in [these] three years, it was like everybody just cares about the hook and the beat; nobody really cares about substance. But with this new T.I. album, with this new Lil Wayne album of recent, it seems like things are looking a lot better now. […] It just seems like now the craft is getting cared about more.” Eminem tells XXL.

In the same interview, Eminem also opens up about his addiction and the pain he felt after his good friend Proof was murdered. As it usually happens, he too did not realize he had a drug problem until it was too late – and it took him three years to acknowledge this fact. Still, he says, he struggled to keep on making music, a task he successfully completed. Eminem ends by hinting that he never actually left the music industry (therefore talk of a “comeback” becomes redundant), because he was always there, even if his name did not appear in the media.

“I wasn’t ready mentally. I wasn’t ready to give up the drugs. I didn’t really think I had a problem. Basically, I went in, and I came out. I relapsed, and I spent the next three years struggling with it. Also, at that time, I felt like I wanted to pull back, because my drug problem had got so bad. I felt like, Maybe if I take a break, maybe this will help. I started to get into the producer role more…” Eminem says about the last three years of his life.
