Friday, July 23rd, 2010

Writing on Twitter, Foxy said her family remained by her side.

“I continue to give it to GOD, I’m home baby!!!! Bum b*tches aint’ stop nothin’! Sunday, LIVE on stage and I’m stuntin’!,” she wrote Thursday (July 22) night.

“Brooklyn courthouse was a zoo!!! Bout’ a 100 paparazzi tryna flick up Foxy! I luv u mommy, my lil’ brother Mouse, my man, my girl Moni…”

Following Wednesday’s arrest, Foxy’s manager slammed media reports.

Bernadette Brennan tells TMZ it all started when Foxy was rehearsing outside for her upcoming show at the B.B. King Blues Club in NY — which ticked off the neighbor. Brennan claims the neighbor then came outside and started screaming at Foxy — but the rapper just ignored her. We’re told Foxy went inside to avoid further confrontation — and that’s when the cops showed up.

50 Cent says he will not Beef anymore

Thursday, July 22nd, 2010

50 Cent has decided to cease being painted as the “bad guy” in rap beefs and will stop entertaining artists with diss records. “A lot of times, earlier in my career, I was competing with artists because that was what I loved about hip-hop: The idea that battling someone was necessary to defend your spot and you had to take on all challengers so I did that constantly. No one thinks that way now and everyone looks at me like I’m the Broad Street Bully. The younger kids coming up missed that time frame, and even the conscious rap is gone too. The stuff that Common Sense and Talib Kweli and Mos Def were rhyming about. What was socially conscious and responsible about the music has been replaced by hipster kids in skinny jeans and mohawks looking like a bunch of homos.

COSIGN

Of course, that’s always been around, but it was usually confined to the Village. Artists have always had the opportunity to influence the culture, but now it’s the other way around: They’re trying to look like their audience to attract their audience. Now you can’t tell the difference between a Led Zeppelin fan and a hip-hop fan.”

Speaking in an interview with radio personality Tim Westwood, Fif said he never sparked rap beefs.

“I don’t have…issues with people until they say things that make me feel like they want a problem,” said the Queens rapper. “Point to one situation that I’ve been in, one altercation where I was competing with another artist that I’ve started…Ain’t that hip-hop? There’s always been battling. It’s always been a part of the culture. In the future, because I’ve been kind of captured as the actual bad guy on some level because they watch me compete and win and it feels like it was effortless, I will make a point to not even respond. I will just look and watch people when they say things.”

Canadien actor/rapper Drake wants to play Obama in a Movie

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010

Degrassi actor Drake recently discussed his admiration toward United States President Barack Obama and said he could portray Obama in a movie.

“I hope somebody makes a movie about Obama’s life soon because I could play him. That’s the goal. I watch all the addresses. Anytime I see him on TV, I don’t change the channel, I definitely pay attention and listen to the inflections of his voice. If you ask anyone who knows me, I’m pretty good at impressions.

Slowly but surely, I’m not in the study mode because nobody’s called me about anything, but I just pay attention so when the day comes I’m not scrambling to learn how to speak like him. I want to be involved in great film projects. I don’t want to do the basketball movie that everyone does. I don’t want to do the typical black film that everyone expects. I think that I have enough experience to actually be involved in a real meaty project full of substance.”

Drake is not American and being a bit actor on one little teenager cable show doesnt qualify him to play the president. I believe if a movie is made about Obama we can get a real actor to play the president, Maybe Denzel Washington.

Snoop Doggs clothing line, which first launched back in the Summer of 2008, has called it quits for now. Snoop and company have officially suspended all online sales of the clothing company and shut down the Rich & Infamous online store and website. No official plans have been set to relaunch the line or if Snoop plans to permanently shut it down. I have said it for years , just because you have a rap career doesnt mean you need your own tacky clothing line. They come and go all the time but the bottom line is 95% of them fail.

Ice Cube and Snoop Dogg laugh at Lebron James

Sunday, July 18th, 2010

Mark it on your calender. Sept. 28th is the new release date for I AM THE WEST. But I’m still droppin’ song after song so look for “Drink the Kool-Aid” later this month. I want to give you the song wit visuals.

A little while ago, I just go off stage in Seattle Washington wit the homie WC and my son Doughboy. We got 5 shows in a row wit Snoop Dogg. I haven’t been on stage since I did Japan in May. So it felt real good to perform tonight. The crowd was electric. They gave me alot of energy. One down four to go.

ice-cube images http://hiphopstarship.com

When I got off stage I saw Kurupt and chopped it up wit him in my dressing room. Kurupt is one of my favorite MC’s. He’s got complicated metaphors that’s still gangsta.

15 minutes after he left the room in came Snoop. We talked about the Lakers kickin’ the Celtics ass in the Finals. We laughed about LeBron joining The Heat. It won’t work, Lakers are still the team to beat. Then he had to hit the stage. I watched do about 6 songs then came to the hotel and wrote this blog. We’re in Oregon tomorrow. I’ll tell you how it goes.

Keep It Gangsta,

Ice Cube

Commercial Artist Drake talks about his new video

Saturday, July 17th, 2010

Actor turned Commercial rapper Drake recently talked about the motivation behind his upcoming “Fancy” music video and said his Thank Me Later visual is strictly for the ladies.

For the video, Drizzy re-linked with his “Find Your Love” director, Anthony Mandler.

Very Suspect type Activity Would you let a man hug you like that ? hmmm

“It’s just made to make women feel special,” Drizzy told MTV News on the set of the video. “It’s a great performance video.” Drake teamed up with director Anthony Mandler, whom Drizzy dubs a “phenomenal cat” and who has, so far, helmed all the clips for Thank Me Later. Mandler, T.I. and Swizz Beatz all put in work on the “Fancy” video, but Drizzy was also geeked out about an artist who was grinding behind the scenes. Drake entrusted the clip’s footwork to renowned choreographer Fatima Robinson and gushed that working with the dance diva was “an honor in itself.”
