Residents of the West Indian island of Trinidad called today for pop megastar Beyonce to cancel her February 18 concert on the island because of its huge cost. The islanders said the £1 million ($1.73 million) cost will bleed money out of the budget for Trinidad’s annual carnival, which ends February 16.
One angry person wrote on social networking site Twitter, “Beyonce can kiss my a**.
“I refuse to give up Carnival to go to a concert to see her perform songs I have seen on YouTube. I love Beyonce but she should never take the spotlight off the Trinidad Carnival.”
